everything you mention sounds good since i believe it to be native... and you wouldn't be contributing to a problem with invasive exotic plants. confess i don't really know about bearberry, though.
in general, i think lots of people believe they really have to plant things to assist wildlife, but my impression is that the native vegetation will work fine and fill space if people let it... and in so doing provide that thick, brushy structure that is in general in short supply.

There are two nurseries that I have used both have excellent material and nice wild life stock, at very good prices. New hampshire www.nhnursery.com/, and New york at Saratoga, www.dec.ny.gov/animals/7127.html

Couple of other nurseries:
New England Wetland Plants in Amherst MA
newp.com - they sell many of the plants your identified and can help with recommendations.

Also, a new nursery I just came across in Housatonic but haven't used: www.projectnative.org/

I've gone there to pick up plants, but I don't know if it's open to the public, per se. What I've done is reviewed their catalog, called them or emailed them to see about availability, and then I've driven in and picked the plants up.

I've found them to be helpful and pleasant. Good luck with your old field. Old Fields have a certain magic to them.
