Service foresters are state employees who can provide on the ground advice to landowners and municipalities. They can guide landowners to the programs and services that will best meet their objectives and can visit properties to evaluate woodlands. Service foresters are a valuable resource in terms of identifying your goals and making contacts with the professionals you may need to reach the goals you set for your land. Private foresters and conservation organizations are also great sources of information and contacts.
